Audition InformationAudition Dates The National Conservatoire Performing Arts will hold its inaugural Queensland auditions on: Sunday,14th January 2018 Audition Venue PCYC Dance Room 219a James St, Toowoomba Qld 4350 The Dance Room is on the first floor of the venue. Neither parents/guardians of those candidates in the audition nor parents/guardians or candidates arriving and preparing for the following audition are to wait on the stairs outside the room while the auditions are in progress. All parents/guardians and candidates are to be respectful of the audition process and allow each candidate the best opportunity. Many of the candidates will be attending an audition for the first time, which can an intimidating experience. Please demonstrate your maturity whilst at the venue. The National Conservatoire Performing Arts reserves the right to refuse a candidate participation in the audition process or to request anyone to leave the venue if they are disruptive or do not comply with the directions of the Company staff. Audition Times Candidates will present themselves at the venue no later than 15 minutes prior to the following audition times: 9.30am to10.30am - Junior 8 -10years 10.45am to 12.00noon - Intermediate 11 -13 years 12.15pm to 2.00pm - Seniors 14 over Candidates are to undertake a warm up prior to entering the studio as each audition class will commence on the barre at the appointed time. Dress Requirements Girls: Leotard (skirts are not to be worn), tights and ballet slippers, pointe shoes (if applicable) Hair is to be off the face and secured in a mid height bun Make up is not necessary Boys: T-shirt or singlet, dance belt, tights (or above the knee ballet shorts) and ballet slippers. Hair is to be neatly groomed and a head band may be worn if preferred. General Requirements A small water bottle and hand towel may be brought into the audition. It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that they are removed at the end of the session. Candidates will not be allowed to re-enter the room to retrieve their possessions. Ballet bags are to be stored securely downstairs (locked) or returned to your vehicle. They are not to be left outside the studio door or on the stairwell as they could become a trip hazard. Jewellery is to be removed prior to entering the studio and stored securely in the candidate’s bag. Earrings are to be unobtrusive (eg: studs or sleepers). Mobile phones, electronic or recording devices are not permitted in the studio. Please ensure they are stored securely with your personal possessions. It is possible that the windows of the studio will be open if the day is warm: please ensure noise is kept to a minimum, both inside and outside the venue. Candidates are to ensure arrangements are in place with their parent/s or guardian/s to collect them after the audition, as Company staff will not be available to wait with candidates during on the day. The appropriate collection point is in the waiting area downstairs. Acknowledgement of Application All candidates will receive confirmation of their audition application, audition date and time and the candidates’ audition number. Digital Submissions Digital auditions will take approximately 2 weeks to process. It is the applicant’s responsibility to contact the Company after this period if you have not received a response. Submitted evidence will not be returned to applicants. Feedback The Director’s decision will be final and further feedback or discussion will not be entered into following the audition process. Refund Policy NCPA does not offer a refund unless NCPA cancels the audition. NOTE: Applications will not be accepted after 4 January 2018.
